Welcome to Bonny Shores HOA

Welcome! First, a little introduction. I am the current president of our HOA. I have lived in Bonny Shores since 2019. I chose this park for two reasons- the laidback charm and the friendly folks. I chose to run for office after watching my community flood in the aftermath of hurricane Milton. I became aware that we were so ill prepared, and felt quite helpless because my physical body would not allow me to assist those in need. Thankully, we were surrounded by angels and unsung heroes who saw the need and helped, even when their own homes were underwater or in need of repair. Many came from as far as West Virginia to bring cleaning supplies, food and manpower. I realized then that where I could help my community was in the HOA.
So, I created this website for those who are currently members and for those who may be interested in joining. We are an advocacy group- not the type of HOA that charges you an exorbitant amount of money to tell you what color your door needs to be. What we do is create a cushion, as it were, between our residents and the management/owner, regardless of your membership status. Our HOA makes every attempt to keep you up-to-date on the many concerns our residents are facing and what resolutions have been made, as well as the many legal battles that mobile home communities are facing today. I am working at making our community a part of the bigger picture in Polk County by attending the monthly meeting of the FMO and the Greater Lakeland Interpark Council. But I am only one person, so I encourage you to join this HOA, as well as the many committees mentions throughout this website such as the Federation of Mobile home Owners, FMO.org and the Greater Lakeland Interpark Council, polkglic.com. It sounds so cliché but, there is power in numbers.
In this blog I will include many of the same articles and updates on bills and amendments that I have posted on our group page, which is for members only, which is why I have chosen to create this blog for those who are not Facebook friendly. I welcome your feedback, provided it is posted kindly. In this mad, mad world we live in today, kindness is in short supply, yet it costs nothing but ego.
Thank you in advance,
Teri Rodriguez
